Give your photos a torn paper effect around the edges

This section of the tutorial will tell you how to give a torn paper effect in Fireworks.

Step 1

Open an image on the canvas.

Step 2

Select the image and go to Filters>Alien Skin Splat LE>Edges as seen below.

Step 3

Select Torn Paper option from Edge Mode.

Step 4

Adjust the Edge Width, Margin and Feature Size sliders. If you want to give a transparent fill for the image, you can check the option Transparent Fill.

Step 5

Below the result with unchecked Transparent Fill.

Below the result with a Transparent Fill checked.
