Follow these simple steps to give the text effect in Fireworks.

Step 1

Open an image on the canvas.

Step 2

Type a text on the image and position it wherever you desire.

Step 3

Select the text and got to the Properties window below the screen, select Effects>Bevel and Emboss>Raised Emboss.

Step 4

Give the property values in the Raised Emboss properties as seen in the image below. Un check the Show Object option.
